(1976) cites the following characters for Mortolinae in his key to
ammotrechid subfamilies:
Tarsi of legs II and III
each with 2 segments;
Tarsi of leg IV each with 3 segments;
Spines present on ventral surface of tarsi of legs II- IV;
Tarsi of pedipalps not articulated, movable;
Intermediate tooth present on movable cheliceral finger.
Distribution: South America
(Argentina).

(1976) stated: "This status of this subfamily and its single genus and
species is uncertain. They are not mentioned in any publication
concerning South American solpugids since its description. I t is included
here questionably."
